EVERETT SILVERTIPS: Fans Donate Over $5,100 To Slide Relief
EVERETT – The Everett Silvertips used Friday’s playoff game vs. Seattle as a fundraiser to help support our neighbors affected by the devastating Oso landslide, and once again the fans of Silvertip Country responded with their trademark generosity. Silvertips fans raised a total of $5,120 in donations for the Disaster Recovery Fund for Mudslide Relief established by the United Way of Snohomish County.
Donations from the game were collected through a combination of ticket sales via a special online link, a pre-game Thunderbirds car smash in front of Comcast Arena and cash donations at our guest services booth during the course of Everett’s 6-1 exciting victory in Game 4 vs. the T-Birds. The United Way Disaster Recovery Fund for Mudslide Relief was established for the purpose of helping the families, communities and community service agencies affected by the March 22 Oso landslide disaster. 100% of these contributions will go to current and long-term recovery efforts.
“This tragedy has had such a significant impact on all of us around Snohomish County and the entire region, and we’re just happy to make a small contribution to help in the recovery,” said Zoran Rajcic, Silvertips Executive Vice President. “Once again the credit goes to our fans for rallying around their fellow community members who could use a helping hand right now. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, along with the first responders and volunteers for everything they’re doing.”
