EDMONTON OIL KINGS: Unveil ‘Pink At The Rink’ Jersey
Edmonton, AB – The Edmonton Oil Kings unveiled their special one-off jerseys for their second annual “Pink at the Rink” game taking place Saturday, February 22 against the Vancouver Giants as the Oil Kings do their part in the fight against cancer.
The jerseys are part of an effort to turn Rexall Place pink as the team helps raise money for Sorrentino’s Compassion House, the Alberta Cancer Foundation and the Prairies/ Northwest Territories chapter of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The game-worn jerseys, as well as special pink sticks being used by select players in the game, will be auctioned off during and after the game, with the proceeds going to the above charities.
The 2013 Pink at the Rink game saw the Oil Kings defeat Swift Current 3-0 in front of 8,984 fans at Rexall Place and raised over $35,000 for cancer charities in the area.
