DAY 6: WHL PLAYERS AT 2016 WJC

UNITED STATES:

Brandon Carlo (Tri-City Americans) earned a plus-1 rating and one shot on goal as the United States beat Denmark 4-1 to close out preliminary play.

DENMARK:

Nik Andersen (Spokane Chiefs) registered a shot on goal and collected two penalty minutes in Denmark’s 4-1 loss to the United States.

SLOVAKIA:

Defenceman Patrik Maier (Kamloops Blazers) and forward Radovan Bondra (Vancouver Giants) were held pointless as Slovakia dropped a 2-1 decision to Russia.

RUSSIA:

Ivan Provorov (Brandon Wheat Kings) tallied an assist to go along with a plus-1 rating and two shots on goal as Russia remains undefeated with a 2-1 win over Slovakia.

CZECH REPUBLIC:

Jiri Smejkal (Moose Jaw Warriors) and Michael Spacek (Red Deer Rebels) each recorded two points (1g-1a) but Czech Republic fell 5-4 to Team Finland to close our preliminary play. Forward Tomas Soustal (Kelowna Rockets) chipped in with an assist in the loss.
