COUGARS’ POCHIRO SIGNS WITH ST. LOUIS BLUES
Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Cougars Hockey Club is pleased to announce that 20-year-old forward Zach Pochiro (Las Vegas, NV) has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the St. Louis Blues.
Selected by St. Louis in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft, Pochiro (6’2”, 160 pounds) turned a lot of heads during his first NHL training camp. His success at camp translated into a terrific season in Prince George where he scored 27 goals, 66 points and 123 penalty minutes in 63 games. In 128 career games with the Cougars, Pochiro has 42 goals, 105 points and 228 penalty minutes.
“It’s been a dream to play in the NHL and to see it falling into place is very exciting,” said Pochiro moments after the news became public. “I’m very excited to be a part of an organization that is on the rise. I’m very grateful and happy to have this opportunity.”
“We are very proud of Zach for all of his accomplishments,” said Prince George Cougars head coach Mark Holick. “He’s worked hard to get to where he’s at, and this contract is well-deserved.”
Pochiro was listed by the Prince George Cougars in the summer of 2012. Previously, Pochiro spent a season playing for the Wichita Falls Wildcats of the North American Hockey League.
