Canada West Update
CANADA WEST CONFERENCE REPORT – University of Calgary Dinos Freshman forward Reid Jorgensen has been named the Canada West Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending November 18th.

rJorgensen, a product of White Rock, B.C., recorded four points in two games on the weekend to lead the Dinos to back-to-back road wins over the Manitoba Bisons.

rOn Friday, November 16th, Jorgensen scored once and added an assist to lead the visiting Dinos to a 6-4 victory over the Bisons. Jorgensen followed up by scoring the game-winner in overtime and adding an assist to lead the Dinos to a 3-2 victory over the Bisons on Saturday night to complete the sweep.

rJorgensen, 21, played five seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Kamloops Blazers, and was named to the WHL Western Conference Second All-Star Team in 2006-07.

rElsewhere in Canada West action on the weekend, the University of Letbhridge Pronghorns and the University of Regina Cougars split a two-game series in Lethbridge.

rOn Friday night, WHL grads Kyle Ross, Tyson Sievert and Dillon Johnstone each tallied a goal and an assist to lead the visiting Cougars to a 7-3 victory over the Pronghorns. Former WHLer Mark Shefchyk had a goal for the Pronghorns in the loss.

rOn Saturday night, WHL grads Jason Roberts and Shaun Norrie each tallied a goal and two assists to lead the Pronghorns to a 5-3 win over the visiting Cougars to earn the series split.

rAlso on the weekend, the U.B.C. Thunderbirds handed the Saskatchewan Huskies their first regulation loss of the season as the teams split a two-game weekend series in Saskatoon. SK.

rOn Friday night, former Saskatoon Blade Trent Adamus scored the game-winner and WHL grad Jeff Harvey made 23 saves as the Huskies skated to a 3-1 win over the visiting Thunderbirds.

rOn Saturday, former WHLer Marc Desloges scored a pair of goals while WHL grad Craig Lineker added a goal and two assists to lead the T-Birds to a 4-2 victory over the Huskies to earn the series split.
