BLADES SIGN WHL DRAFT PICKS; HICKMOTT, GRAHAM
Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatoon Blades are pleased to announce the signing of their first pick from the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft, Landyn Hickmott. Hickmott was selected by the Blades in the third round, 66th overall.
The 5’10 centre hails from Misison, B.C. and played AA bantam hockey there last season before being drafted by Saskatoon.
In 65 games last season the 15 year old Hickmott registered an impressive 81 goals and 82 assists for 163 points. He also added 42 minutes in penalties.
“Landyn’s a smart player with a great work ethic,” Saskatoon Blades Head Coach and General Manager Lorne Molleken said. “He’s a true student of the game and we’re glad to get him under contract. We look forward to having him help out our hockey club in the future.”

Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatoon Blades have come to an agreement with 1996-born forward Ryan Graham. Graham was selected by the Blades in the 5th round of the 2011 WHL bantam draft, 91st overall.
The 5’11, 168 pound left winger is from Calgary and played bantam AAA for the Calgary Royals last season. He registered 9 goals and 24 points while suiting up in 33 games.
In his first exhibition game with the Blades, he scored a goal against the Prince Albert Raiders.
“He’s a young guy that thinks the game very well and has a great compete level,” Saskatoon Blades Head Coach and General Manager Lorne Molleken said. “We feel fortunate to have been able to sign him. He’s a guy that we feel has a ton of potential.”
