B.C. Major Midget League Championship Series

The Major Midget League Championship Series is set to begin this weekend with the Vancouver North West Giants hosting the Greater Vancouver Canadians. The Series will be played from Friday, March 20 to Sunday, March 22 with all games will be played at the Burnaby Winter Club. For a complete weekend schedule, please see below.

• Friday, March 20 – 7:00 pm
• Saturday, March 21 – 6:00 pm
• Sunday, March 22 – 11:00 am (if required)

BC Hockey has added an additional component to the Major Midget League Championship with Game Two (2) of the series being webcasted on the BC Hockey and Major Midget League website. Colin Tiggelaar the voice of the Surrey Eagles of the BCHL will be doing the play-by-play announcing. Pre-game starts at 5:50.

The winning team will be awarded the Cromie Memorial Cup which is emblematic of the Major Midget League Champion. The Cup was donated to BC Hockey in 1937 by Don Cromie, Vice-President of the Vancouver Sun, in memory of his father, the late R.J. Cromie.

The BC Hockey Major Midget League was established in 2004 to provide elite level 15, 16 and 17 year olds an opportunity to play within their own age group. Playing at this high level and be developed for the next level of hockey. These teams have an opportunity each year to compete for the National Midget Championship.
