Wiesblatt signs WHL Standard Players Agreement with Medicine Hat Tigers
Medicine Hat, Alta. – Medicine Hat Tigers General Manager and Head Coach Shaun Clouston announced that the team has signed 12th overall selection from the 2019 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft Oasiz Wiesblatt to a WHL Standard Players Agreement.
“We are very excited to welcome Oasiz and the Wiesblatt family to the Tigers Organization,” said Clouston. “His future is very bright and we look forward to working together to help Oasiz achieve his hockey goals.”
The Calgary, Alta. native posted 55 points (19G-36A) in 28 regular-season games with the Calgary Bisons of the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL). The 5-foot-5, 145-pound centreman was also selected to the AMBHL All-Star game this past January where he had an outstanding and dominant performance against his peers, recording a hat-trick in a very close contest.
“He has terrific vision, especially from the blue line in, he’s quick to process his surroundings and set up his teammates,” Tigers Director of Player Personnel Bobby Fox said. “Oasiz has a good, hard shot and is a highly effective, highly skilled attacker that brings a lot of energy and has a tremendous compete level. We are very excited to see him in the orange and black.”
