WHLers React to Being Selected in the 2016 NHL Draft
Last weekend, 34 WHL players inched closer to their dreams after being selected in the 2016 NHL Draft in Buffalo, NY.
20 NHL teams added WHL players to their pool of prospects at the Draft, with Anaheim, Tampa Bay, Toronto and Washington each selected three WHL products. In total, 22 forwards, 10 defencemen and two goaltenders were selected out of the WHL. Since the WHL’s inaugural season in 1966-67, a total of 1,967 players have been selected in the NHL Draft out of the WHL.
