WHL Playoffs Top Performer: April 5, 2024
What Wood Briley do?
That’s the question Wenatchee needs to ask itself as forward Briley Wood continues to tear up the 2024 WHL Playoffs.
The Wild veteran netted a goal and added two assists, including a shorthanded helper, to help Wenatchee eke out a 5-4 overtime victory against Kelowna and stave off elimination in Game 5.
Wood got things rolling by wrapping around the Rockets’ net to set up Kenta Isogai for a tap-in goal to give Wenatchee a 1-0 lead.
Later in the first frame, Wood set up Isogai again with a sneaky drop pass on the penalty kill.
The Rivers, Man. product capped off his night with a heavy one-timer that blew past Jari Kykkanen.
2:22 left, period 2, and a 2-goal lead for the Wild!

This is the second time Wood has been named WHL Playoffs Top Performer after ripping four goals and two assists in an 8-6 Wild victory in Game 1.
The 6-foot-3, 188-pound centre leads all WHL skaters in the postseason with 11 points (six goals, five assists) and a +3 rating.
Woof will try to keep his hot streak alive as the Wild look to force a Game 7 with a Game 6 win in Kelowna on Sunday, April 7 at 2:00 p.m. PST.
