WHL Playoffs Top Performer: April 17, 2024
After recording his first career WHL Playoffs hat-trick on Tuesday night, Anaheim Ducks prospect Egor Sidorov was left craving another one — and got it.
A pivotal force in the Saskatoon Blades’ series-clinching, 7-0 triumph over the Red Deer Rebels, Sidorov accounted for three of Saskatoon’s goals for the second straight night.

His first of the night – and eighth of the postseason – came just over three minutes into the first period and opened the scoring for the visitors. After a quick whip around the Rebels zone, Sidorov fired the puck off the glove of goaltender Taylor Tabashniuk and into the back of the net.
The forward’s offensive antics only got craftier as the night went on.
For his second of the evening, Sidorov pulled a ‘spin-o-rama snipe’ out from his bag of magic tricks. The jaw-dropping move would eventually earn him the WHL Highlight of the Night for April 17.

The spin-o-rama backhand? The between-the-legs snipe? We couldn’t decide between these Egor Sidorov beauties 😅@BladesHockey | @AnaheimDucks | #FlyTogether#WHLHoN | #WHLPlayoffs | #FeedingTheFuture pic.twitter.com/i1rhzUcrTd

And, as the Blades sat on the cusp of punching their ticket to the Eastern Conference Championship, Sidorov continued to keep his foot on the metamorphic gas pedal late in the second period. The Belarusian import capped off his second hat trick in back-to-back nights by chasing down a delayed icing and depositing the puck into the net with a between-the-legs effort.
The monster night didn’t stop a hat trick either.
As the dust settled, Sidorov logged himself a five-point outing after tacking on two primary assists on goals from Toronto Maple Leafs prospects Brandon Lisowsky and Fraser Minten.
The NHL prospect now leads the WHL in postseason goals with 10, while bragging 14 points through nine games.
Having advanced to the next round following their sweep over Red Deer, Saskatoon will face either the Moose Jaw Warriors or the Swift Current Broncos in the Eastern Conference Championship.
