Hitmen forward Tulk commits to University of Wisconsin
Calgary, Alta.- Calgary Hitmen forward Oliver Tulk has announced his commitment to the University of Wisconsin.
The 19-year-old will join the Badgers for the 2025-26 season.
“I’m excited to announce my commitment to Wisconsin University for the 2025-2026 season,” Tulk said. “I’m also grateful for my time with the Calgary Hitmen in the WHL. I’d like to thank the Hitmen coaching staff and management for their support in my development both on and off the ice.”
Tulk, a 5-foot-8, 174-pound forward, was originally drafted by the Hitmen with the 12th overall pick of the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft.
Since then, the 19-year-old has netted 88 goals and 120 assists for 208 points in 227 regular-season games.
Tulk was also named a WHL Central Division Second Team All-Star in 2023-24.
He’s currently in his fourth season with the club and leads the Hitmen with 15 goals (four of which have come on the powerplay) and 49 points in 30 games- including his active 11-game point streak.
“Oliver has been an excellent Hitmen during his career in Calgary,” Hitmen General Manager Garry Davidson said, “It is important to recognize the opportunity for him next year and partner with Wisconsin in continuing his development for the rest of this season.”
Calgary (17-9-3-1) enters the WHL holiday break on a four-game winning streak and currently sits second in the Central Division and third in the Eastern Conference.
The Hitmen return to action against the division rival Lethbridge Hurricanes (17-11-1-1) on Friday, December 27 at 7:00 p.m. MST.
