Tim McGauley netted a hat-trick to propel the Brandon Wheat Kings to a dominating 7-3 win in Game 5 against the Moose Jaw Warriors. The Wheat Kings win the series 4-1 and have advanced to the Eastern Conference Championship Series for the second consecutive season. Wheat Kings forward Tyler Coulter recorded three points (1g-2a) to earn second star honours.

ROCKETS 4, ROYALS 1
The Kelowna Rockets struck for three goals in the third period to down the Victoria Royals 4-1 in Game 5. For Kelowna, the win marks their third in a row overall and it has vaulted them to a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series. Rourke Chartier scored twice for Kelowna while Tyson Baillie potted his third goal of the post-season.

PATS 1 , REBELS 5
The Red Deer Rebels came out on a mission and scored five times to beat the Regina Pats by a score of 5-1 on Friday night. Rebels forward Brandon Hagel collected two points (1g-1a) to earn first star honours and was one of five different skaters to find the back of the net for Red Deer. The Rebels lead the series 3-2 with Game 6 going Sunday afternoon in Regina.

THUNDERBIRDS 2, SILVERTIPS 1
The Seattle Thunderbirds stingy defence held the Everett Silvertips to only 16 shots on goal in their 2-1 nod in Game 4. Thunderbirds forward Ryan Gropp was named the game’s second star as he recorded his first goal of the playoffs and added an assist. Silvertips goaltender Carter Hart turned aside 34 shots in a strong losing effort. Seattle leads the series 3-1.
