Western Hockey League mourns passing of Orca Wiesblatt
The Western Hockey League is mourning the passing of former Calgary Hitmen forward Orca Wiesblatt, who passed away in a car accident this past weekend.
Hailing from Calgary, Alta., Wiesblatt, 25, played 138 games as a member of the Hitmen from 2017 through 2021.
In many ways, Orca paved the path for his younger brothers, Ozzy and Oasiz, who followed him into the WHL and enjoyed great success of their own, both winning WHL Championships. As a family, the Wiesblatts have made tremendous contributions to the Western Hockey League.
On behalf of the WHL and its 23 member Clubs, we extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to Ozzy, Oasiz, Ocean, Oceania, their mother Kim White, and all those who knew Orca on or off the ice.
