TODAY’S WHL NEWS AND NOTES
The Western Hockey League today announced a number of suspensions and a fine.
Dean Chynoweth, head coach of the Seattle Thunderbirds, has been suspended indefinitely for receiving a game misconduct versus the Kelowna Rockets on March 6.
Two players from the Seattle Thunderbirds have been suspended for their actions versus Kelowna in the same game. Greg Black has been suspended indefinitely for receiving a match penalty late in the game. Zack Fitzgerald has been suspended for two games for receiving a match penalty.
The length of the indefinite suspensions to Chynoweth and Black will be determined following further review of the incidents.
Ryan Jorde of the Moose Jaw Warriors has been suspended for two games for receiving his fourth game misconduct of the season versus the Prince Albert Raiders on March 6th.
Bobby-Chad Mitchell of the Moose Jaw Warriors has been suspended for one game for receiving his third game misconduct of the season at Prince Albert on March 5th. He will serve the suspension on March 10th at Prince Albert.
Lane Lambert, Assistant Coach of the Moose Jaw Warriors, has been fined $200.00 for receiving a game misconduct at Prince Albert on March 5th.
