Thunderbirds & Rockets to battle for Western Conference crown
For the second consecutive season, the Seattle Thunderbirds and Kelowna Rockets will compete for the WHL’s Western Conference crown.
The Thunderbirds advanced upon completing a clean sweep of the Everett Silvertips, while the Rockets needed five games to get past the pesky Portland Winterhawks. Both second-round series came to a close Friday night.
The Western Conference Championship series will begin south of the border as the Thunderbirds play host for Games 1 and 2 at ShoWare Center on Friday, April 21, and Saturday, April 22, respectively. From there, the best-of-seven affair moves north to Prospera Place in Kelowna for Games 3 and 4 on Tuesday, April 25, and Wednesday, April 26, respectively.
