This Week in WHL History:
- Facing a 3-1 deficit in the second round series versus the Swift Current Broncos, the Calgary Hitmen rallied to win three consecutive games; Alexandre Fomitchev turned aside all 28 shots he faced in game seven as the Hitmen clinched the series with a 1-0 triumph on Apr. 8, 1998
- Brennan Bosch scored the winner in triple overtime to lift the Medicine Hat Tigers to a 4-3 victory over the Saskatoon Blades on Apr. 8, 2006; it stands as the fourth longest game in WHL history at 119 minutes and 41 seconds

- On Apr. 10, 1989, the Portland Winter Hawks erased a 5-0 deficit in game two of the best-of-nine Western Conference Championship series against the Kamloops Blazers; Greg Leahy buried the game-winner with 17 seconds left in regulation as Portland won by a score of 6-5
- The Prince Albert Raiders were on the brink of elimination in the second round and down 3-1 in the series against the Regina Pats; the Raiders collected three victories in a row including a 5-1 win on Apr. 10, 1996 to complete the comeback
- Blake Gal was the hero in quadruple overtime as the Spokane Chiefs prevailed over the Vancouver Giants 4-3 on Apr. 10, 2009; it was the second longest game in WHL history at 126 minutes and five seconds and the first of three straight games between the two Clubs that was decided in extra time
