This Week in WHL History:
- Red Deer Rebels’ netminder Cam Ward holds the fourth longest shutout string in the playoffs at 186 minutes and 27 seconds; he posted back-to-back shutouts over Moose Jaw and Medicine Hat before finally allowing a goal on Apr. 17, 2004
- Before he was the head coach of the Spokane Chiefs, Don Nachbaur netted a playoff record-tying five goals as a player for the Billings Bighorns in a 7-4 victory over the New Westminster Bruins on Apr. 20, 1978
- From Apr. 14 – 20, 2008, Spokane Chiefs’ goaltender Dustin Tokarski recorded the fifth longest shutout streak in the playoffs at 186 minutes and 15 seconds; His shutout streak was a part of a sensational five-game stretch where he registered three shutouts against Vancouver as well as Tri-City and only allowed two goals
- Matt Calvert of the Brandon Wheat Kings potted a natural hat trick in the second period while shorthanded in a 6-3 loss to the Calgary Hitmen on Apr. 20, 2010
