Raiders, Wild complete trade involving forward Maddix McCagherty
The Prince Albert Raiders struck a deal with the Wenatchee Wild on Wednesday, acquiring 19-year-old forward Maddix McCagherty. In return, the Wild received a 2026 4th round pick, and a 2027 6th round pick.
McCagherty, from Kelowna, BC, has spent the past two seasons with the Wild. He originally started his WHL tenure with the Swift Current Broncos, before being traded to Wenatchee partway through the 2023-24 season.
So far in 2025-26, the forward has scored six goals and added nine assists for 15 points. In 62 games last season with the Wild, he had 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points.
“We’re excited to add Maddix to our group,” Raiders general manager Curtis Hunt said. “He can play in all situations throughout the lineup. He will add speed and an element of physicality, but is also proven to have an adept touch around the net. We look forward to getting him into the lineup.”
