Gianni Fairbrother
Former Everett Silvertips captain Gianni Fairbrother joins the Colorado Avalanche organization after being acquired via trade from the Montreal Canadiens this past June. Fairbrother, from Vancouver, B.C., missed the entire 2022-23 season due to injury, and gets an opportunity for a fresh start in the Rockies after appearing in only 25 regular season games with AHL Laval in 2021-22, during which he scored once and added six assists. Originally a third-round pick by Montreal in the 2019 NHL Draft, Fairbrother patrolled the blue line for the Silvertips for four full seaasons, topping out with 10 goals and 36 points during the 2018-19 campaign. He was also part of the Everett squad that reached the WHL Championship Series in 2018.
