Kallionkieli signs three-year, entry-level contract with Vegas Golden Knights
Marcus Kallionkieli has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Vegas Golden Knights.
He was selected by the Golden Knights in the fifth round, 139th overall, from the 2019 NHL Draft and made things official with the NHL club Wednesday morning.
Kallionkieli was selected in the first round, 22nd overall, by the Brandon Wheat Kings in the 2019 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft last month.
The 6-foot-1, 192-pound product of Helsinki, Finland spent the 2018-19 season with the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League (USHL), recording 53 points (29G-24A) in 58 games. He was named to the USHL’s All-Rookie Team.
Kallionkieli was one of four NHL prospects selected by WHL teams in the 2019 CHL Import Draft. The Wheat Kings also selected Minnesota Wild forward prospect Vladislav Firstov, taking him in the second round, 82nd overall.
