Calgary Hitmen sign Peterek & Krajc to WHL Standard Player Agreements
The Calgary Hitmen are pleased to announce the signing of Canadian Hockey League Import Draft selections Jonas Peterek and Samuel Krajc to Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreements.
Peterek, a 6-foot-2, 176-pound centreman from Ostrava, Czech Republic was selected 37th overall in the 2019 CHL Import Draft by the Hitmen. Last season, Peterek spent the majority of his time playing for the HC Frydek-Mistek team of the Czech2 league, recording 11 points (2G-9A) in 41 games. He also competed at the IIHF World Under-18 Championship for Team Czech Republic where he notched two assists in five games. Also on the international stage, Peterek earned a bronze medal with the Czech Republic at the 2017 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
Krajc, a native of Martin, Slovakia, and 6-foot-2, 201-pound winger was selected in the second round, 97th overall, in the 2019 CHL Import Draft by the Hitmen. In the 2018-19 hockey season, Krajc split his time between Slovakia’s Under-18 and Under-20 leagues. With the HK Dukia Trencin Under-18 and Under-20 team, Krajc registered 33 points (19G-14A) in 41 games and became a Slovakia Under-20 Champion. He also joined Team Slovakia for the IIHF World Under-18 Championship, recording three points (2G-1A) in seven games.
