Hitmen clinch & will face Pats to open WHL Playoffs
The Calgary Hitmen effectively sewed up the second wild card and final playoff berth in the WHL’s Eastern Conference, knocking off the Kootenay ICE by a 6-1 margin Friday night.
With the win, the Hitmen eliminate the Saskatoon Blades from playoff contention and will take on the first-place Regina Pats, winners of the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy as WHL Regular Season Champions.
Games 1 and 2 are set for March 24 and 25, respectively, at the Brandt Centre in Regina. The series will then shift to Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome for Games 3 and 4 on March 28 and 30, respectively.
