Giants alternate captain Halaburda commits to Colorado College
Langley, B.C.- Vancouver Giants alternate captain Ty Halaburda has announced his verbal commitment to Colorado College.
The 19-year-old is set to join the Tigers for the 2026-27 season, after playing out his final season of WHL eligibility.
“Proud to announce my commitment to play NCAA hockey at Colorado College,” Halaburda posted on social media. “A huge thank you to my coaches, management, agent, family, billet family and friends for all their support and guidance throughout this journey.”
Halaburda is in the midst of a career-best campaign that’s seen him net 23 goals and 30 assists for 53 points in 52 games and sit third on the Giants in scoring.
He’s been one of Vancouver’s top contributors in 2025, potting 25 points in 20 games in the new year.

Hailing from Victoria, B.C., Halaburda was selected by the Giants with the 32nd overall pick in the second round of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.
He’s played his entire WHL career with Vancouver, racking up 70 goals and 102 assists for 172 points in 231 games over four seasons.
“Ty Halaburda’s commitment to Colorado College for the 2026-27 season is a well-earned opportunity and a reflection of his dedication,” Giants General Manager Barclay Parneta said. “Until then, the Vancouver Giants fully support him in his pursuit of an NHL contract, helping him continue to grow both on and off the ice.”
Halaburda was named an alternate captain ahead of the 2023-24 season.
The 5-foot-11, 187-pound winger has also potted a goal and an assist in nine playoff appearances.
He’s represented Canada at the 2023 IIHF World U18 Championship, where he picked up a goal and two assists in seven games en route to a bronze medal.
Vancouver (27-21-6-0) has won two straight games as the team jockeys for playoff positioning in the Western Conference.
The G-Men will travel to Kelowna for a B.C. Division showdown against the Rockets (16-32-4-2) on February, February 21.
