Everett Silvertips capture second consecutive Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy as WHL regular-season champions
The Everett Silvertips have gone back-to-back as the best in the WHL’s regular season.
For the third time in franchise history, Everett has locked down the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy, which is awarded annually to the league’s regular-season champions.
The U.S. Division juggernaut clinched first overall with a 4-3 overtime win against the Penticton Vees on Saturday night, making Everett’s ninth consecutive victory.
With a 54-7-2-1 record, Everett has also tied the franchise record for most wins in a single season.
However, the 2006-07 Silvertips achieved their 54-15-1-2 record back when the WHL played a 72-game schedule.
After a 2-3-0-0 start, Everett shot to the top of the league standings by the start of December and rarely ceded their first-place ranking thanks to stingy defensive play and breakout performances from its forward ground.
Entering Saturday’s action, Everett ranked third among all WHL teams in goals for while allowing the fewest goals.
The Silvertips have strung together four seven-plus game win streaks, highlighted by a 13-win run that stretched from January 17, 2026, to February 14, 2026.
Everett has also done some of its best work on the road with a formidable 27-4-0-0 record in enemy barns.
Rookie Matias Vanhanen has paced the team by breaking the 85-point mark, while five other skaters have surpassed the 20-goal mark.
Detroit Red Wings 2025 first-round pick Carter Bear has erupted for 35 goals and 35 assists for 70 points, and Seattle Kraken signee Julius Miettinen has bagged 32 goals (including the Scotty Munro-clinching overtime-winner) and 41 assists for 72 points.
Captain and Anaheim Ducks pick Tarin Smith leads scoring from the blueline with 14 goals and 53 assists, while the WHL’s first exceptional-status defenceman, Landon DuPont, has erupted for 68 points (18G-50A) in 60 outings.
In net, Anders Miller and Raiden LeGall have both surpassed 25 wins while rankings in the top five among all WHL netminders in goals-against average.
The Silvertips have never missed the WHL Playoffs since joining the WHL back in 2003-04.
Everett has racked up 11 U.S. Division titles – including this year- and have reached the WHL Championship twice- in their inaugural series and in 2018.
