Broncos, Hurricanes set for Central Division clash in Round One of 2024 WHL Playoffs
A Central Division storm is a’brewing.
The division champion Swift Current Broncos (2) will take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes (7) in Round One of the 2024 WHL Playoffs.
The matchup was confirmed after a 3-2 Lethbridge overtime loss against Medicine Hat combined with a 3-2 Brandon victory over Victoria.
This meeting will mark the first time these teams have met in the postseason since the Broncos dispatched the Hurricanes in six games in Round Three of the 2018 WHL Playoffs.
Swift Current would go on to win its third Ed Chynoweth Cup by defeating Everett in the WHL Final.
The Broncos will enter as the Central Division champs and the higher seed, Lethbridge owns a narrow 4-3-1-0 record against Swift Current in the regular season.
Game One of the first-round matchup is set for Friday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m. CST in Swift Current at the InnovationPlex.
The series will move to the Enmax Centre in Lethbridge on Tuesday, April 2 at 7:00 p.m. MST.
