Broncos forward Dezainde commits to University of Connecticut
Swift Current Broncos forward Carlin Dezainde is set to continue his hockey career at the University of Connecticut next season after committing to the Huskies men’s hockey program Tuesday morning.
Dezainde, who turns 20 on December 29, is enjoying a stellar start to the 2024-25 campaign, recording 25 points (13G-12A) in 22 games split between the Prince George Cougars and Broncos.
The 5-foot-11, 172-pound product of Calgary, Alta., was acquired by the Broncos in an early season trade and has been a point-per-game producer since arriving in the Land of Living Skies.
Undrafted into the WHL, Dezainde signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Medicine Hat Tigers on April 2, 2021.
Over 209 career WHL regular season games split between Medicine Hat, Prince George, and Swift Current, Dezainde has collected 117 points (48G-69A).
Dezainde and the Broncos return to action Tuesday when they travel to the Moose Jaw Events Centre to take on the Moose Jaw Warriors at 6 p.m. MT / 7 p.m. CT.
