2025 WHL Playoffs: Clinching Scenarios – Friday, February 21
The Lethbridge Hurricanes can become the next team to qualify for the WHL Playoffs on Friday night.
Sitting third in the logjammed Central Division and fourth in the Eastern Conference, Lethbridge looks to head to the postseason for an eighth-straight season.
The Lethbridge Hurricanes can clinch a playoff berth with:
- Any Lethbridge win versus Kamloops; and
- A Red Deer regulation loss versus Saskatoon
The Hurricanes defence has been the team’s bread and butter all season long.
Lethbridge has been dinged with the third-fewest goals against league-wide and boasts the fourth-best penalty kill, led by players like Captain and reigning WHL Scholastic Player of the Year, Noah Chadwick (Toronto Maple Leafs).
The Canes look to snap a three-game slide and punch their playoff ticket when they host the Kamloops Blazers (20-30-4-0) on Friday, February 21 at 7:00 p.m. MST.
In Central Alberta, Red Deer (21-28-4-2) can stave off its rival’s celebrations with a win against their playoff foe, the Saskatoon Blades (29-18-3-4).
The Blades and Rebels will clash at the Peavey Mart Centrium at 7:00 p.m. MST.
