2024 WHL Graduates – Tri-City Americans
Over the summer, the Western Hockey League is celebrating the WHL Graduates from the 2023-24 season in a 22-part, team-by-team series.
We continue with the graduating players from the Tri-City Americans.
Parker Bell (F)
Hometown: Campbell River, B.C.
WHL Career Stats: 239 GP – 77G-107A – 184 points
WHL Draft: 2018 – Fifth Round, 102nd overall (Tri-City Americans)
NHL Draft: 2022 – Fifth Round, 155th overall (Calgary Flames)
For the last five years, all Parker Bell has known is life as a member of the Tri-City Americans. Drafted in the fifth round (102nd overall) by Tri-City at the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft, Bell battled for a spot on the Club’s roster and by September 2019, the forward had solidified his seat with the Americans. Bell made his League debut on September 21, 2019, and grabbed his first point (an assist) on October 19, 2021. After making 48 regular season appearances in his rookie season, Bell became a staple within the Americans’ troops. In a five-season span, he pulled on their red, white, and blue uniforms on 200-plus regular-season appearances. In that time, the product of Campbell River, B.C., offered a consistent influx of offensive production, recording a career-high of 64 points in both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons. However, in his farewell season, the 20-year-old hit his personal best in goals – firing home 33 in just 59 regular season games. In July 2022, Bell furthered his career as a professional hockey player by hearing his name called by the Calgary Flames at the NHL Draft. Bell went on to sign a three-year, entry-level contract with the Flames in September 2023. The Americans’ alumnus is expected to join the Flames’ AHL affiliates, the Calgary Wranglers, on a full-time basis for the 2024-25 season and forward. In total, Bell amassed 184 points (77 goals–107 assists) in 239 career starts with the Americans.

Ethan Peters (F)
Hometown: Moose Jaw, Sask.
WHL Career Stats: 208 GP – 7G-37A – 44 points
WHL Draft: Listed (Edmonton Oil Kings)
Ethan Peters departs the WHL following a successful career with both the Edmonton Oil Kings and Tri-City Americans. Despite going undrafted at the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft, Peters continued to sharpen his game before being added to the Oil Kings protected list in September 2018. Peters’ hard work did not go unnoticed, as he signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Oil Kings in January 2021. The 2020-21 WHL Season was when Peters first took to the ice with the Oil Kings, recording five points (one goal–four assists) in 23 regular season games. But it was in his second season with Edmonton that he took on a larger role with the club. Playing in 57 regular season games during the 2021-22 season, Peters boasted a career-high in points, with 17 (two goals–15 assists). His in-season accomplishments continued past his individual performances, as he got to lift the Ed Chynoweth Cup as a member of the Oil Kings in June 2022. In January 2023, Peters took his winning pedigree to the U.S. Division, as he was acquired by the Tri-City Americans. The product of Moose Jaw, Sask., played parts of two seasons in Kennewick, Wash., collecting 16 points (three goals–13 assists) in 89 skates. Now, Peters is taking his talent to Eastern Canada, as he is using his WHL Scholarship to play for the Queen’s University Gaels in Kingston, Ont.
Ethan Peters wraps up a great WHL career that began with the @EdmOilKings. The impact he had on our locker room and in the community will be felt for years.
Thanks for everything, Petey. 💙 pic.twitter.com/mEEbCiSaIe

Alex Serraglio (D)
Hometown: Langley, B.C.
WHL Career Stats: 209 GP – 7G-48A – 55 points
WHL Draft: Listed (Tri-City Americans)
The Tri-City Americans will be without Alex Serraglio for the upcoming season, as the defenceman leaves their ranks as a WHL graduate. Serraglio exits both the Americans organization and the Western League following a four-season stint starting during the 2020-21 season. Going undrafted at the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft, Serraglio was able to catch the attention of the Americans and managed to sign a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement in March 2021. He made his League debut on March 28, 2021, while his first point (an assist) came two games later. The Langley, B.C. product was promoted to a full-time WHLer for the 2021-22 season, skating in 67 regular season games with the Ams. His best season to date came in the following season, where he racked up 25 points (four goals–21 assists) in 68 games. Serraglio’s impact on the Americans’ organization eventually trickled past his on-ice performances, as he evolved into a leader for the club. Prior to the 2023-24 season, the 20-year-old was named the 24th captain in Americans history. Serraglio capped off his junior hockey career by accruing 18 points (two goals–16 assists) in his final 68 games with the Americans. Currently, the WHL alumnus is slated to join the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds for the 2024-25 season.
No better time for a first WHL goal.
