AMS SEND DEFENCEMAN TO REGINA
Kennewick, WA – June 13, 2002 – The Tri-City Americans Hockey Club this morning announced they have traded overage defenseman Dustin Barker to the Regina Pats in exchange for a conditional 5th round selection in the 2004 WHL Bantam Draft.
Western Hockey League teams are eligible to dress a maximum of three overage (20 year olds – 1982 births) this upcoming season and today’s transaction reduces the Ams roster to five including Pat Iannone, Eric Johansson, Ben Kilgour, Joel Martin and Matt Sommerfeld.
BOB TORY, GENERAL MANAGER
“Due to our abundance of overage players and the quality of our young defencemen we decided that this trade would be possible. This will provide Dustin with the opportunity to complete his WHL career. We thank Dustin for his contributions on and off the ice here in the Tri-Cities and wish him well in Regina.”
