ROAD TO THE 2005 MEMORIAL CUP

HALIFAX, N.S — Sidney Crosby and the Rimouski Oceanic were crowned champions of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League last night and will represent the QMJHL in the 2005 Mastercard Memorial Cup in London, Ontario.

rCrosby scored once to lead the Oceanic to a 4-3 victory over the Halifax Mooseheads in game four of the QMJHL championship series. With last night’s win, Rimouski completed a 4-0 series sweep of the Mooseheads to claim their second league championship in franchise history.

rCrosby and the Oceanic join the OHL’s London Knights – the host team – and the Ottawa 67’s in the Memorial Cup tournament, beginning Saturday, May 21st.
