Saskatoon to face Red Deer in Round Two of the 2024 WHL Playoffs presented by Nutrien

Rematch time.

The top-ranked Saskatoon Blades will face the Red Deer Rebels in a repeat of 2023’s dramatic Eastern Conference Semifinal showdown.

The rollercoaster series saw Red Deer take a 3-0 series lead, with Saskatoon storming back with four straight wins to eliminate the Rebels.

The matchup was sealed on Friday night after Saskatoon defeated the Prince Albert Raiders in Game 5 and Red Deer blew past the Medicine Hat Tigers in Game 5.

Saskatoon and Red Deer split their regular-season series at two wins apiece, with the Rebels snapping Saskatoon’s franchise-record 14-0-2-2 point streak with a 5-4 win on January 17.

Red Deer also became the only team to blank Saskatoon in the regular season with a 5-0 victory on February 27.

However, Saskatoon also dealt the Central Division squad 2-1 and 4-2 losses.

The series will begin on Friday, April 12 at the Sasktel Centre.
