Moose Jaw and Swift Current confirm Second-Round playoff series
The Moose Jaw Warriors will take on the Swift Current Broncos in Round Two of the 2024 WHL Playoffs presented by Nutrien.
The Eastern Conference Semifinal matchup was confirmed after the top-ranked Saskatoon Blades eliminated the eight-seed Prince Albert Raiders in Game 5 on Friday night.
While Swift Current clinched the Central Division title with an 86-point regular-season campaign, Moose Jaw finished the season third in the Eastern Conference with 96 points, earning home-ice advantage after playoff re-seeding.
This will mark the first time the Warriors and Broncos will meet in playoffs since an electric Second-Round tilt in 2018, which saw Swift Current prevail in seven games en route to capturing the Ed Chynoweth Cup.
Three of those games required overtime, including double overtime and triple overtime thrillers.
Puck drops on the series on Friday, April 12 at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
