Ziemmer signs entry-level contract with Los Angeles Kings
It was about the furthest thing from Koehn Zimmer’s mind as he stood next to his dad in the hunting and fishing aisle of Canadian Tire.But sure enough, his phone started buzzing with a life-changing call.The Prince George Cougar has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Los Angeles Kings.“It’s a pretty surreal feeling,” Ziemmer said. “You play hockey your whole life dreaming of playing in the NHL one day, and this is one step closer for me. To sign on the dotted line is pretty cool.”Ziemmer was selected in the third round, 78th overall by LA in the 2023 NHL Draft.The Mayerthorpe, Alta. product has tallied seven goals and 18 assists in 16 contests this season.On milestone watch, Ziemmer is closing in on 100 goals (currently sitting at 87) and 100 assists (95).Ziemmer and the Cougars are on the road tonight to battle the Vancouver Giants at 7:00 pm at the Langley Events Centre.
