WHEAT KINGS OFFENCE EXPLODES FOR 13 GOALS IN BIG WIN AGAINST ICE
The Brandon Wheat Kings offence came alive Friday night as they scored a league-high 13 goals to defeat the Kootenay ICE by a 13-1 final. Reid Duke scored three goals to pick up the hat trick and also added two assists to cap off a five point game and claim first star honours. Wheat Kings forward Jayce Hawryluk continued his hot play by contributing four points (1g-3a) and defenceman Macoy Erkamps was productive with four points (1g-3a) to go along with a plus-5 rating. The Wheat Kings power play was clicking throughout the contest scoring four times in five opportunities.

CHIEFS 0, WINTERHAWKS 5
The Portland Winterhawks picked up their first win of the campaign as they blanked the Spokane Chiefs 5-0. Winterhawks netminders Adin Hill turned aside 23 shots to earn his first shutout of the season and he was also named the game’s second star. Forward Rodrigo Abols and Alex Schoenborn each collected three points on the score sheet with a goal and two assists.

REBELS 1, HITMEN 4
The Calgary Hitmen scored three power play goals to defeat the Red Deer Rebels by a 4-1 margin. Hitmen alternate captain Travis Sanheim was in on all four goals as he registered four points (1g-3a) in a strong outing. Hitmen goaltender Lasse Petersen was solid in goal as he stopped 22 of 23 Rebels shots to seal the win for Calgary.

GIANTS 5, PATS 6 (OT)
Regina Pats forward Adam Brooks buried his first goal of the season with less than a minute remaining in overtime to lift his Club to a 6-5 win against the Vancouver Giants. It was a back and forth matchup with the Giants holding a 5-3 early in the third period after Dakota Odgers netted a short-handed goal to give Vancouver the two goal cushion. The Pats scored two goals late in the third period to force overtime and ultimately came away with the victory. Giants forward Ty Ronning scored three goals to pick up the hat trick and earn first star honours, albeit in a losing effort.

ROYALS 3, ROCKETS 0
The Victoria Royals scored three times in the third period to break a scoreless tie and blank the Kelowna Rockets by a 3-0 final. Coleman Vollrath was solid in goal for the Royals stopping all 26 shots he faced to claim both his sixth win and first shutout of the season. The shots on goal were 26 apiece for both teams.

Brayden Burke and the Lethbridge Hurricanes played a complete game in defeating the Medicine Hat Tigers 7-0. Burke was a playmaker as he tallied four assists and finished the night with a plus-2 rating. Hurricanes forward Giorgio Estephan recorded three points (1g-2a) to claim second star honours while goaltender Jayden Sittler turned aside 23 shots to earn the shutout. It was a chippy matchup as the two teams combined for 78 minutes in penalties.

Brett Pollock scored the decisive shootout winner to lift the Edmonton Oil Kings to a 4-3 road win over the Moose jaw Warriors. Oil Kings forward Lane Bauer scored his fourth and fifth goals of the campaign while defenceman Dysin Mayo tallied a couple of assists. Warriors captain Brayden Point scored his fifth goal of the season on a penalty shot attempt at the 2:40 mark.

AMERICANS 5, COUGARS 2
Taylor Vickerman scored his second goal of the year on an Americans power play in the second period which eventually stood as the game winner for Tri-City in their 5-2 win over the Prince George Cougars. Americans forwards Beau McCue and Parker Bowles each tallied a goal and an assist in the win. The Americans have now earned points in four straight games.

BRONCOS 5, BLADES 0
Landon Bow was productive for the Swift Current Broncos as he stopped all 30 shots he faced in blanking the Saskatoon Blades by a score of 5-0. Broncos forward Tyler Steenbergen tallied a pair of assists to go along with a plus-3 rating.
