Pats hire Evan McFeeters as assistant coach
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats rounded out their coaching staff on Friday, hiring Evan McFeeters as an assistant coach ahead of the 2023-24 WHL season.
“We are very pleased to add Evan McFeeters to our hockey club,” Regina Pats VP, Hockey Operations & GM Alan Millar said. “Evan brings good experience to our team from his successes at various levels, and will play an important role, not only in the competitiveness of our team, but also the development of our players.”
McFeeters, 35, joins the Pats after eight seasons in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with Canmore, Brooks and Sherwood Park from 2016-2023. Most recently, McFeeters held the role of Head Coach with the Crusaders. McFeeters transitions to the Pats after leading the Crusaders to the second round of the AJHL playoffs following a 30-20-3-4 regular season as the Club’s head coach.
Internationally, the product of Canmore, Alta. served as a guest coach with Canada West at the 2019 World Junior A Challenge, following that experience up with a stint as an assistant coach with Canada West at the 2022 World Junior A Challenge.
“To join the coaching staff of the Regina Pats is an honour,” said McFeeters. “I am excited to work with the entire staff and be part of the proud tradition of the Pats. During our conversations, Alan and Brad laid out a vision I am motivated to pursue. I am looking forward to help develop players and a team that the fans and community take pride in.”
McFeeters will join newly named Head Coach Brad Herauf, Assistant Coach Ken Schneider and Goalie Coach Daniel Wapple on the Pats coaching staff ahead of the upcoming season.
