WHERE ARE THEY NOW? – DONOVAN OTT
Wild alum Donovan Ott made the most of his junior hockey career, playing for five teams over the course of four seasons in three different leagues. Now the Lebanon, PA native has settled in Troy, NY where he’ll begin his junior season of Division I college hockey with the Renneselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers in the ECAC.
Ott got his first taste of junior hockey when he headed out to join the Wenatchee Wild in the 2014-15 season. When the Wild made the jump to the BCHL the following year, so did Ott, though he did it with a different team, joining the Surrey Eagles. He returned to the NAHL the following season, closer to home with the Johnstown Tomahawks, just shy of three hours from his hometown. As the Tomahawks season wound down, he joined the USHL’s Tri-City Storm for a pair of games at the end of their season. He opened the following season (2017-18) with Muskegon in the USHL, then returned to Johnstown where he played in 17 games before making the jump to RPI.
Described as a “versatile power forward with an elite shot”, Ott finished the season at RPI and returned last year for the 2018-19 campaign.
