WHERE ARE THEY NOW? – Jeff Jubinville
A mid-sized forward from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, forward Jeff Jubinville began his junior career in his home province, playing three seasons in the Alberta Junior Hockey League before arriving in Wenatchee for the 2009-10 season. Here, he averaged a point per game over 65 games, including 10 games in a postseason run that took the Wild to the Robertson Cup Tournament.
The following season Jubinville began his college career at Bemidji State Univ. in Minnesota. There, he earned a major in business administration with a minor in entrepreneurship. He wore an “A” in his senior season as an alternate captain.
After college he played a productive season at the pro level in Tulsa. Then, “I decided to go to Europe after a year in the ECHL as I had a very appealing offer in Norway. One of my goals was always to play in Europe and when the opportunity came, I knew it would be a fun adventure. I enjoyed playing in Europe and being able to travel a lot as the season schedule is very similar to a college season and the hockey was very competitive. My wife and I met lots of great people and lifelong friends and those memories alone are what really matter.”
With his European playing career winding down, he felt the call to return home to Canada. “I currently live in Edmonton and I’m managing the family business, which is mainly steel roofing/siding and various other building products and ventures.”
Now a family man, he and his wife Kathryn have 2 children, a three-year-old boy (Leo) and a beautiful 5-month-old daughter (Millie). They also have a Hungarian Vizsla pooch named Oakley.
Reflecting back, he shares, “My time is Wenatchee was amazing and one of my favorite places I played hockey. The town and people were great along with my teammates and coaching staff. I had the greatest billets one could ask for in Tom and Lisa Kriskovic and I hope to get back to Wenatchee soon again for a visit.”
