ICE earn 1st WHL preseason win
Conor Geekie scored two goals during regulation time and the game winner in the second round of the shootout as the Winnipeg ICE earned a 6-5 victory over the visiting Regina Pats.
Geekie (2 goals, 1 assist), Carson Lambos (1 goal, 2 assists) and Matthew Savoie (1 goal, 2 assists) each finished with three points, while Skyler Bruce rounded out the scoring as they improved their preseason record to 1-1.
Connor Bedard and Zack Stringer each scored twice for Regina, now 1-0-0-1 in the preseason, Cole Dubinsky had the goal.
The ICE outshot the Pats 47-31. Daniel Hauser was the winning goaltender making 26 saves. Matthew Kieper started the game for Regina stopping 20 of 23, Spencer Welke finished the game turning aside 22 of 24.
