NASTIUK IS WHL PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Calgary, Alberta — The Western Hockey League Player of the Month for September / October should come as no surprise to anyone.r

The first HUSKY Player of the Month of the 2004-05 campaign is veteran netminder Kevin Nastiuk of the Medicine Hat Tigers.r

The 19-year old goaltender from Edmonton recorded ten wins and a tie, including an incredible six shutouts during the opening month. He also recorded a shutout string of three consecutive games and 223 minutes.r

Nastiuk recorded a very impressive goals against average of 0.89 and a .968 save percentage. He has allowed only eight goals on 278 shots.r

Drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2003 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Nasituk is currently first among WHL goaltenders in goals against average, save percentage and shutouts. He is also tied for first in wins.r

Among the players that he beat out for the monthly honours were a pair of Ryans – Keller from Saskatoon and Stone from Brandon. They’re currently 1-2 in the WHL scoring race.r
