CHUCK-A-PUCK RETURNS IN 2009-10
Brandon, Manitoba — With training camp right around the corner and renovations in full gear at Westman Communications Group Place, the Western Hockey League’s Brandon Wheat Kings, in conjunction with PhysioFirst have announced that plans are underway for another season of “Chuck-a-Puck“.r Starting this October, the Wheat Kings and PhysioFirst will again be presenting “Chuck-a-Puck” during the second intermission of each Saturday night home game. Proceeds will benefit western Manitoba charities. “Chuck-a-Puck” is a great visual promotion that has the ability to offer various charitable organizations with outstanding fundraising opportunities. How will it work? Fans attending Saturday night home games will have a chance to purchase a (numbered) foam puck before the game and during the first intermission. Immediately following the second period of play, those fans that do will be urged to toss it toward the center ice face-off circle. How can Charities become Involved? They can register by contacting Doug Treloar at PhysioFirst at 727-6806 or by email at [email protected] What must a Charity provide? In order to participate, local groups will need to provide a registered charity number and a minimum number of volunteers – for both in-game puck sales and on ice clean-up (during the second intermission). As well, participating charities must provide a grand prize for their game. “PhysioFirst is excited at the opportunity to partner with the Wheat Kings again this year,“ says Doug Treloar of PhysioFirst. “This is very much in keeping with our clinic’s strong commitment to the community and to local charities.“ Available Saturday Night Home Games: 1.
