CHL WELCOMES NEW MARKETING PARTNER
Toronto, Ontario — The Canadian Hockey League has announced that it has entered into a new marketing partnership with Canadian Controlled Media Communications (CCMC) whereby it will be the exclusive broadcasting and publishing agency of the CHL, beginning with the 2002-2003 season.r

Under terms of the agreement, CCMC becomes the exclusive marketing agency of CHL national television broadcast games which includes the Hershey Cup All Star series, the Home Hardware Top Prospects Game and the MasterCard Memorial Cup. CCMC will also produce and market regional game broadcasts of the Ontario Hockey League, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Western Hockey League.r

CHL publishing ventures to be marketed by the CCMC include the national magazine distributed through all 55 league franchises and the MasterCard Memorial Cup program.r

CCMC is one of North America’s leading sports and entertainment multi-media marketers, with extensive business ventures in publishing, radio and television broadcast sales and production, event production and management and website design and maintenance.r

Other CCMC properties include several National Hockey League publications including the NYL Yearbook, the NHL All Star souvenir magazine and the Stanley Cup magazine.r

In news closer to home, the WHL’s Brandon Wheat Kings have announced this year’s season ending prize winners. Alexander’s Murray Owens won a trip for two anywhere in North America compliments of McPhail Travel of Carberry and 880 CKLQ – the “play-by-play voice of the Wheat KIngs”. As well, 16-year old Candace Wells of Wellwood was the 2002 winner in the McDonalds Mini Olympics grand prize draw. This year’s grand prize includes a $3,000 Home Entertainment system compliments of Rick Chrest, Leon’s Furniture Superstore and JVC Canada.
