The Penticton Vees announced today the acquisition of 2006-born forward  Carter Cunningham from the Medicine Hat Tigers. In return, the Vees send the Tigers a 7th round pick in the 2028 WHL Draft. 

Cunningham registered nine goals and 30 points for the Tigers this past season, his second with the club. In total the Lethbridge, AB native skated in 100 regular season games with Medicine Hat notching 37 points. He also dressed for 16 playoff games with the Tigers contributing one goal and four assists. He was a member of the 2024-25 Ed Chynoweth Cup winning team in Medicine Hat. 

The 20-year-old also spent some time with the Calgary Canucks of the AJHL in the 24-25 season registering 16 points in 14 games played. 

“We’re excited to add Carter to our group,” said Vees head coach and general manager Fred Harbinson. “He brings size, experience and a competitive edge, and we believe his style of play will fit extremely well with the identity we’re continuing to build here in Penticton.”

Cunningham stands at 6-FOOT-3 and 192 lbs and plays primarily on the right-wing.
