Alexander True named WHL Player of the Week
Calgary, AB – The Western Hockey League announced today that Seattle Thunderbirds center Alexander True has been named the WHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 20, 2016.
True registered seven points (5G-2A) in three games to help the Seattle Thunderbirds go 2-0-1-0 this past week.
On Tuesday, November 15, True registered a goal and an assist to be named second star in a 5-2 victory over the Spokane Chiefs. The 19-year-old product of Copenhagen, Denmark, followed up with a hat-trick performance, including the game-winning goal, in a 4-3 win versus the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday, November 18, earning first star recognition. Finally, True wrapped up a solid week with a goal and an assist in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Portland Winterhawks on Saturday, November 19.
True is currently second in scoring on the Thunderbirds, having collected 16 points (10G-6A) in 200 games.
The 6-foot-5, 199-pound centre was a first round pick (48th) of the Thunderbirds at the 2014 CHL Import Draft and has amassed 60 points (30G-30A) in 123 career WHL regular season games. In his third WHL season, True is eligible for the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
