Silvertips Announce 2015 Training Camp Schedule
EVERETT – The Everett Silvertips have announced the complete schedule for the club’s 2015 training camp, with on-ice sessions set to begin in two weeks on Thursday, Aug. 27 at XFINITY Arena. Three days of practices and scrimmages will precede the awarding of the Volunteer Cup title on Saturday afternoon before training camp concludes with the annual Green & Grey intrasquad game at 3:00 pm on Sunday, Aug. 30.
Following a format similar to recent years, approximately 80 total players will be split into four different teams to open camp with a practice session on Thursday. Each team scrimmages twice on Friday and again on Saturday morning before they are seeded for the third-place game and Volunteer Cup title game during the Saturday afternoon session.
A newly-added “Rookie Game” featuring only 1999 and 2000-born prospects (15 and 16-year-olds) is set for Sunday morning at 8:00 am before the camp is pared down and reorganized into two teams for the annual Green & Grey intrasquad game at 3:00 pm Sunday afternoon. Admission to the Green & Grey game is free to give Silvertips fans a first look at the 2015-16 team in a full-game setting.
All training camp sessions are open to the public, with the main XFINITY Arena entrance (at the intersection of Hewitt Ave. and Oakes Ave.) opening 15 minutes prior to the first practice/scrimmage of each morning and afternoon session. Doors for the Green & Grey intrasquad game open at 2:15 pm on Sunday, 45 minutes prior to the 3:00 pm face-off.

The Holiday Inn Preseason Classic tournament returns to XFINITY Arena during Labor Day weekend, Sep. 4-6, with nine games over three days. The ‘Tips start the regular season in Prince George on Sep. 25 before the 13th season of Silvertips hockey debuts in Everett with opening weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 10 and 11.
