Join Operation Desert Comfort this Weekend!
The Silvertips are teaming up with the Everett Elks Lodge at this weekend’s games at Comcast Arena support “Operation Desert Comfort”, a program that sends care packages to military men and women serving in Afghanistan. As the Silvertips host Kamloops on Saturday and Swift Current on Sunday, we’re asking the fans to help support this effort by bringing donated items to include in packages for the holiday season.
Started by U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Anthony Juarez, Operation Desert Comfort aims to provide a little taste of home for soldiers stationed away from their homes and families in Afghanistan. Donations being collected this weekend will be packaged and sent out to the troops in time for the holiday season. The care packages include a wide range of items such as snack foods, toiletries, magazines, games and other entertainment options.

The Everett Elks Lodge will have donation bins set up at all Comcast Arena entrances this weekend to collect donated items. You can also contribute to the effort through cash donations to the Elks volunteers in attendance at the games on Saturday and Sunday.
