A special surprise awaited the students as they filed back into the school gymnasium having had most of their planned activities canceled. Silvertips mascot Lincoln burst into the room to raucous applause before hosting a special game of floor hockey with a rotation of volunteers.
Joining Lincoln at the school was former Everett Silvertips winger Hunter Campbell (2020-22), who fielded questions and shared stories of his playing days with eager students.
When the games and Q&A subsided, Lincoln and Campbell bestowed each of the 80 kids plus staffers with a litany of Silvertips merchandise, including beanies, trading cards, mini-sticks, bobbleheads and more. Students swarmed the visiting Tips for pictures and autographs before ending the day with an ice cream snack.
Stick taps to Hunter, Lincoln, PTA vice-president Jäna Hecla and Picnic Point Elementary for a fantastic day!
