GAME RECAP: Silvertips extend winning streak with 3-2 victory over Tri-City
EVERETT, Wash. — Everett extended their winning streak to seven games with a 3-2 victory over the Tri-City Americans Sunday night at Angel of the Winds Arena.
Beau Courtney opened the scoring with a backhander while shorthanded 1:54 into play, his 13th goal of the season and first on the penalty kill. Jesse Heslop added a powerplay one-timer goal at 5:09 for a 2-0 Silvertips lead. Jake Sloan answered for Tri-City at 6:00 to halve the deficit heading into the first intermission.
Dominik Rymon added to the Silvertips’ lead 8:18 into the second period, wiring a wrister past Kyle Kelsey for his team-leading 24th goal of the season.
While Brandon Whynott brought the Americans back within one, the Tips hung on for a 3-2 final. Tyler Palmer stopped 22 of 24 in the win.
