GAME RECAP: Metzger stops career-best 42 in loss at Kent
KENT, Wash. — A valiant effort by the Silvertips went unrewarded, as the Thunderbirds broke a third period tie and pulled away for a 5-1 final at accesso ShoWare Center in Kent Saturday night.
Dylan Guenther scored the first goal of the game at 15:25 in the first period, capping off a smooth skating display from Brad Lambert for his seventh tally of the season.
Jackson Berezowski tied the game at 17:55 in the second period, springing a shorthanded rush and capping it off for his 43rd of the year.
Jeremy Hanzel scored the game-winning goal on the powerplay at 6:12 in the third period, wiring a wrist shot from the center of the blue line. Nico Myatovic, Brad Lambert and Hanzel again would add to the lead in the third period for a 5-1 final.
Thomas Milic stopped 14 of 15 in the win for Seattle. Tim Metzger saved a career-high 42 shots in the loss.
The Silvertips return to Everett tomorrow night hosting the Spokane Chiefs at 4 p.m. for Undie Sunday. Fans are encouraged to bring a donation of warm undergarments in both youth and adult sizes to benefit Clothes for Kids. Tickets are available by clicking HERE.
