Foundation Chair
The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Victoria Royals. Success for us does not only mean success on the ice, but also in our communities. This off-ice success is achieved by working closely together with local organizations across the Southern Vancouver Island.

The Victoria Royals Foundation strives to improve the lives of Southern Islanders through the support of health and wellness, education and grassroots sports programming.

50/50
One of our biggest tools for giving back is our 50/50 draw, which happens every home game of the season. We work together with our charitable partners to gather funds for their operation through a revenue share model. As of 2022/23 we also offer tickets to be purchased online without having to physically be at the arena
Gameday Inclusion
Where possible we provide opportunities for charitable partners to be a part of the gameday presentation (puck drops, intermission games). Additionally, we provide partners the opportunity to setup information booths on our concourses, helping them reach our audience.
Volunteerism
Our staff and players actively volunteer, helping with causes around health, wellness and education, with a special emphasis on minor hockey. We support the growth of junior hockey on the island by volunteering at practices and tournaments.
Community Partnerships
We work with our select charitable partners by providing donations (in-kind or monetary) to support the work they’re doing to better our communities. The Royals also participate in partner events, helping these events draw more support.
Every hockey club needs a hand at times and the Victoria Royals Foundation is there to help. Our Royals Hockey Help Fund is a brand new tool for Minor Hockey Teams to request support from the Victoria Royals Foundation. Need tournament help? Need Equipment help? Have a program in mind that needs funds for starting up? We will review all requests and based on available resources and fit provide support to grow our beloved sport on the island.
As we look to create healthier communities through the power of sports, a lot of this work will be achieved through supporting the many great minor hockey associations and programs on the island. By supporting the growth of these organizations, we are also stewarding the growth of grassroots hockey on the island, ensuring a stable environment for future players to develop in.

The Southern Island has numerous great organizations which keep our communities healthy. The Victoria Royals Foundation works with a variety of charities & non-profits throughout the year, allowing us to adjust to changes in our market, where we can direct support to the greatest need, whilst still staying true to our mission. Partners for our larger charitable components (5050 Draws) are set on a season-by-season base, based on where we see our foundation making the greatest impact.
